Q:
What is "Star Wars: Imperial Assault"?
A: "Star Wars: Imperial Assault" is a mod that will convert “C&C
Generals: Zero Hour” into an enjoyable ground-based battles and Air based
battles in the Star Wars universe.
Q: When
will it be released?
A: A Public
Alpha and a Demo Mission are currently available at our
download page, it is only a matter of time before we release a beta
and a final release.

Q:
Will this Mod support both Generals and Zero Hour?
A: You must have Zero Hour to play and it supports the latest
patch 1.03.

Q:
I would like to part of the Mod team, how can I join?
A:
Email Edan, the project leader, at
[email protected],
or check out the
Derelict Studios forums and become part of the team there.

Q:
The Public Alpha has only the
Galactic Empire and the Rebel Alliance—where are the Clone Wars factions?
A: We are
finishing those two factions first, and then plan on pursuing the other
factions (the Separatists and Old Republic) when we are happy with the
first two.

Q:
Are you guys going to make
Imperial Assault 2 for BFME or RA3? Will you wait until then to make the
Clone Wars factions?
A: It’s possible, we are uncertain at this point if we are going
to do that, but you can be sure that we will certainly complete the first
two trilogy factions to perfection on the Zero Hour SAGE Engine.

Q: What kind of maps
will there be?
A: We will have at least one map for every well-known planet in
the Star Wars Universe, including some others.

Q:
What will be the requirements?
A: Zero Hour and the game’s system requirements.
We do warn that Imperial Assault is quite graphic-intensive compared to
Zero Hour, and if Zero Hour ran slowly for you on Low Graphic Settings,
you should consider upgrading your system specs to play SW:IA.

Q: Will
there be a campaign?
A: Yes, there will be around 8 or 9 missions for each faction.
The detailed concept and storyline for the campaigns of the trilogy
factions are complete, and are currently in production.

Q: Can I
be a beta tester?
A: We are releasing all of our Alphas and
Betas to the public, so feel free to go over to
the forums and let us know what you think should be changed.

Q:
What is the URL to your forums?
A: Our forums can be located here:
http://www.derelictstudios.net/forums/index.php?showforum=103

Q: Will
there be Starships?
A: Probably not. They are too big and too
powerful, and although cool, would in the end, make the game unbalanced
and less fun. Plus Generals isn’t made for those kind of huge units.,. the
SAGE Engine will simply not permit it.

Q:
Will there be space battles?
A: No.
Q: Why not?
A: |
1. |
|
Star texture would be flat, so when the screen moves,
all the stars would move-- it would appear 2D. In real 3D life, stars
closer to the screen would move faster than those far away |
|
2. |
|
It would seem flat-- A real 3D space would be like a
globe |
|
3. |
|
All of the aircraft would be fighting on one level,
rather than going above, below, and upside-down, which would seem
weird in a space where there's not supposed to be any gravity |
|
4. |
|
It probably won't be possible to make a star texture
that doesn't look repetitive. Doesn't seem possible. |

Q: Once installed, will I still be able to
play Zero Hour? Or will I be stuck with
Imperial Assault?
A: For the public alphas, we haven’t taken the extra time so
that you can play both Zero Hour and SW:IA.
However, we will create a special installation program for our final
releases, and the mod will be installed so that you can play both Zero
Hour and SW:IA without uninstalling SW:IA.

Q: When was the mod
first invented?
A: We've been working on SW:IA since September 2003.
